A PADILLA MISSION'S TRIP

Padilla is a wonderful place to headquarter out of for a short-term mission’s trip. Padilla offers you a chance to experience the quiet village life of Mexico. This quaint town is laid back yet it has a great town square full of friendly people.

There is a core of local pastor’s that enjoy working with the mission groups that come to share the love of Christ. They make it easy for you to learn about a different culture while opening their churches and homes up to group members.

The WOTC staff will do everything possible so you will experience the presence of God during your mission’s trip, while experiencing the joy that comes from serving Him. It is our desire that each group learns to work in unity and grow together within the family of God. We hope you catch the passion we have for winning the lost while working in the harvest fields surrounding Padilla.

Before you arrive you will be assigned a group leader who will be in contact with you to work out a schedule and the details of your trip. Each day’s activities will be tailored to the goals of each group. There will be a lot of choices to fill your day and if you stay long enough you can see and do more than you can imagine.

You will find we begin the each day giving you time to have a personal time with the Lord. Then you will love the morning devotional time as it prepares everyone for an exciting day of serving the Lord.

Of course there is always the need for outreach and evangelism. You will have time to inter act with the children that are always present no matter where you go. There is always a big need for Vacation Bible School. If VBS isn't your thing the staff loves to party and the Mexican people love to have a Fiesta. We do that by having block parties. You never know what might happen at these parties. Sometimes we fly kites, cook hotdogs, make cotton candy or snow cones and of course the old favorite of popping popcorn over a campfire. The block parties always bring out the children, adults and grandparents giving us an opportunity to share testimonies along with the Gospel.

Another great way to share the message of Christ is through dramas and skits. So if your group would take the time before coming on your missions trip to learn some skits and drama's we have some neat places in mind for you to share Christ through drama's and skits. In most Mexican towns you will find a town square and this is the local meeting place for kids, teenagers and families. It makes the perfect stage for skits and drama's.

Another thing that groups really seem to enjoy is the opportunity to attend a local church. Since most churches in Mexico have services 7 days a week it isn't hard to go and enjoy worshiping in a service where Spanish is the language being spoken. Not only will the group get to experience a wonderful praise time but the group will also get a chance to share their testimonies and of course someone will have the special honor of sharing the evening message. It is quite a unique experience and well worth your time. In Padilla there is also a unique opportunity to have night crusades using the WOTC tents to meet in.

There is also the ongoing need to build churches. There are many congregations that have been meeting under a tree or some where that is temporary. Many of these congregations have been praying for years asking the Lord to provide them with a church building. So if you are interested in being an extra special blessing and doing something that will last for many years in the future you might just consider taking on the project of building a church.

At WOTC we have many really wonderful cooks so we promise you will get a great meal before leaving out in the morning and when you return in the evening. We take picnic type meals for our lunch so you won’t be going hungry.

There is a number of exciting things to do to have fun. There is a great place to swim in the local river. There seems always to be local kids wanting to play soccer or basketball. Padilla is also a great place to just walk around taking in the feel and smell of the city.

A short-term mission’s trip to Padilla is a trip that will change your life. It is a time for making memories that will stay with you the rest of your life. It is a place and time you will remember where your relationship with the Lord grew and you will leave knowing He loves you and He will use you every time you give Him the opportunity.

Padilla is a special place where people to come to know Him and grow in Him. We are praying you will come and work with us in the harvest fields that are ripe for harvest.
